The Princess Principle

When I was leaving a store today, the young, male clerk said, "Thank you, ma'am. Have a nice day." I glanced at him and replied, "Please don't call me ma'am. It makes me feel old."

The clerk responded, "What would you prefer to be called?"

"Hmmmm ... well, princess would be nice."

Without missing a beat, he smiled, winked, and said, "All right then. Thank you, princess. Have a nice day."

What a sweetie. I think I'm in love.

Happy Friday!

tree - you always make me laugh! Red Stripe training is going well. Hopefully, it will be sunny tomorrow and I can get a little more "work" in by the pool. LOL!

It's amazing how just being friendly can cause those emotions to surface.

When I first moved to Texas, and the pizza delivery boy called me Ma'am, I said the exact same thing to him.
For some reason, being called Ma'am was a real indicator that somehow I had aged. (On the west coast, it was not common to use Ma'am).
I wasn't as quick witted as you though, I think I was too stunned to think on my feet.
Or hungry.

You Worship? Your Highness? Exalted one? Your Majesty in whose shadow I am unworthy to stand?
See if it sticks the next time you visit.

I can't say I like the whole "ma'am" thing either. I'm not one to force my kids to say it either!

As for "princess", bring it on. That would be my title at work (not sure that is a good thing though!). One of my co-workers was kind enough to buy me a tiara.

Hello from a new blogger!
Everyone cannot take the risk of asking to be called Princess.
What if the guy replies like:
'How can I call you a princess when you resemble a witch?'
hahaha..jk. I know my sense of humor sucks:P
Have a lovely day, little Princess :)
